Art work by 47 adults and children, all students of local art teacher Mercedes Gastonguay, will be featured in the upcoming annual exhibition in the Atrium Art Gallery at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston Auburn College. The exhibition of oils, ink and pencil drawings, pastels, and watercolors opens Friday evening, July 18, 7-9 p.m., and continues through August 17.
Students work from still lifes in the studio, on-location landscapes, photographs, and from works by well known artists. The exhibition includes portraits, landscapes, still lifes, wildlife studies, seascapes, and floral studies.
A reception, free and open to the public, will be held Friday, July 18 from 7-9 p.m. The Edward Little Music Association will provide beverages. Speakers include State Senator Margaret Rotundo and Dean of USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College, Marvin Druker. Muriel Schwinn will perform original compositions on the piano. |
