USM's Lewiston-Auburn College continues its Monday evening lecture series with guest speakers, free and open to the public.
Joel Babb is an artist well known for his large panoramic cityscapes and for his large paintings of forest interiors, brooks and streams, and the impressive rocky coast. For many years he taught for the Boston Museum School, and for Harvard University Extension. His work can be seen in public spaces including the lobby of the Charles Hotel in Cambridge, MA, Baker Library at Harvard Business School, Countway Medical Library at Harvard Medical School. He is represented by Vose Galleries in Boston where he will be having a solo exhibition beginning October 5 this year. A book about his work—written by Maine author Carl Straub—will be published by University Press of New England this fall.
