Ira "Ike" Levine

Professor Levine's area of expertise is algal physiological ecology and marine agronomy. He offers courses in scientific topics, biological principles, applied botany, environmental sciences, ecology, coastal ecology and marine biology.

Professor Levine was recently chosen as New Century Scholar

Research Interests

Levine's research focus is on the bioremdiation potential of algae, cultivation ecology of Porphyra, and cultivar enhancment of commercial algae.

USM Theater to present The Well of Horniness

The University of Southern Maine (USM) Department of Theatre will present an encore staged reading performance of Holly Hughes’ farcical radio play, “The Well of Horniness,” on Thursday, Oct. 2 in room 285, at 7:30 p.m.The Androscoggin Room, at the USM Lewiston-Auburn campus.

The performance is free for USM students and the general public.
