Welcome Week at USM LAC

Welcome back to USM LAC! Whether this is your first time on campus or you are returning, the faculty and staff want to make sure your semester starts positively!

There will be several informational tables set up on campus from September 2 - 8. These tables will be hosted by people who can help you find your class, provide information on financial programs, and help you find a student service, group or organization that you may be interested in joining.

Intro to USM Web Tools
Library Staff will walk students through how to access the USM Help Desk, MaineStreet, Student Email, Blackboard (for online classes), Library, and USM Website.  If you are a new student or need a refresher- you don’t want to miss one of these sessions!

Start Smart

Student Success Advisor and Assistant Director of Financial Aid, Cheryl Paluso will help you get off to a smart start this semester by understanding how to navigate the, sometimes confusing, academic and financial pieces of college!  They will also point you to some great resources that will help you along the way! 

Applying to Grad School

Associate Director of Graduate Admissions, Lisa Sweet, will be here to answer your questions on applying to grad school, whether you’re thinking of applying to USM or elsewhere.  Even if you’re just starting your program, but are considering grad school- this session will offer some great tips!

Join Dean Joyce Gibson and Associate Dean Whitaker for lunch!  They would love to meet or reconnect with you!  Pizza and drinks will be served!

BlackBoard Drop In Sessions

This will be a great opportunity to get help navigating BlackBoard!  Bring your laptop or use a USM computer and get help walking your way around your online or blended courses!  Great for new students or students who are new to Blackboard!
