USM's Campus Safety Project will be sponsoring several events during April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness month.
- April 1 - 25: USM Clothesline Project display will be in the second floor student lounge. Stop by to make a t-shirt to donate to the project. Room #210: Mondays: 11am - 8 pm, Tuesdays: 11am - 8 pm, Wednesdays: 11 a.m. - 3 pm,Thursdays: 12:30 pm - 8pm
- April 18: The Campus Safety Project is collaborating with the Student Government Association to sponsor a "Day of Silence" - honoring the LGBTQA community
- April 21-27: National Crime Victims Rights week - New Challenges, New Solutions. The CSP will have an information table with resources from "Vision 21: Transforming Victim Services", an initiative from the U.S. Department of Justice Office for Victims of Crime mission
- April 24: Second Annual Take Back the Night Rally / Denim Day*. South Lobby area, 3:00 pm - 5: 00 pm. Guest speaker is Auburn Mayor Jonathan LaBonte. Public is welcome!
(*Denim Day - founded in Los Angeles, California with the Sexual Violence Prevention and Education Campaign, sends a message that there is NO EXCUSE and NEVER an invitation to RAPE. Denim Day is held nationally on April 24th: when jeans are worn with a purpose. Please wear your jeans on this day during the Take Back The Night Rally event.)
The Campus Safety Project will also be selling "Got Consent?" t-shirts. Those who sign up to volunteer for April events will be give a free t-shirt!
