Julia Carroll Venegas received her B.A. in Latin American Studies from University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. During this time she studied abroad in Santiago de Chile and Salamanca, Spain. Julia taught Spanish to undergrads at Emory and Clark-Atlanta University, as well literature courses to groups of Spanish speaking women in Hannover, Germany, where she lived with her family for 5 years. She has also taught writing in both English and Spanish. Her research includes various aspects of Latin American literature and culture. She enjoys reading in English and Spanish, cooking, travel, and spending time with her three young boys.
