Author of "Sarah, Plain and Tall" Speaking in Abromson Center on 7/15

Patricia MacLachlan, author of the Newberry Award-winning book, "Sarah, Plain and Tall," Molly Bang, winner of three Caldecott Awards, and Jack Gantos, author of the Newbery Honor Book "Joey Pigza Loses Control" will be speaking at USM's "In Celebration of Children's Literature" conference, Saturday, July 15. Held in the Abromson Community Education Center, the conference has been popular with teachers and librarians for 25 years. Joyce Martin has planned the conference, sponsored by USM's Professional Development Center in the College of Education and Human Development, each year. The conference will conclude with a performance by musician and storyteller Jennifer Armstrong, who performs and records multi-cultural folk songs, stories and poetry.
