Open House for USM's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered

As part of Southern Maine Pride 2004, the Jean Byers Sampson
Center for Diversity in Maine, located on the sixth floor
of the University of Southern Maine Glickman Family Library
on Forest Ave., Portland, is hosting an open house for those
wishing to learn more about the Center's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,
Transgendered Collection. The open house will take place from
5-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 16.
Material from the Collection, as well as the exhibition "Charlie
Howard 20 Years Later: How Far Has Maine Come," will be on
display. Howard Solomon, scholar-in-residence for the LGBT
Collection, and Susie Bock, director of the Sampson Center,
will be available to answer questions about the Collection.
Light refreshments will be served in the new facility overlooking
Portland's Back Cove.
