Open House for USM's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered Collection

June 2, 2004

As part of Southern Maine Pride 2004, the Jean Byers Sampson Center for Diversity in Maine, located on the sixth floor of the University of Southern Maine Glickman Family Library on Forest Ave., Portland, is hosting an open house for those wishing to learn more about the Center's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered Collection. The open house will take place from 5-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 16.

Material from the Collection, as well as the exhibition "Charlie Howard 20 Years Later: How Far Has Maine Come," will be on display. Howard Solomon, scholar-in-residence for the LGBT Collection, and Susie Bock, director of the Sampson Center, will be available to answer questions about the Collection. Light refreshments will be served in the new facility overlooking Portland's Back Cove.

For more information, contact Susie Bock, 780-4269.
