April 29, 2004
Whether you want to go on a pilgrimage to Ireland, study
French sign language in France, or pick up a marketing course
in USM's School of Business in Portland, USM has the class
for you this summer. "Baseball and American Society," a class
that takes students on the road to visit major and minor league
baseball stadiums while listening to lectures on a bus, will
once again be offered.
USM recently released its course catalog for Summer Session,
2004. The program is the largest in the state and has open
enrollment, offering enrichment opportunities to people of
all ages. Summer Session boasts a comprehensive youth summer
program in music and performing arts, and language camps for
fourth through sixth graders. There are international and
travel programs offered in 12 different countries, certificate
programs and institutes for educators and professionals, as
well as numerous course offerings in USM's degree programs.
Open registration began on Friday, April 23. There will be
three sessions, the first two starting May 17 and July 6 respectively,
with courses running either four or seven weeks. The third
session dates and lengths will vary.
