A selection of contemporary artworks on paper from the Astrachan Collection demonstrates the use of a variety of mediums. The works highlight the newly emerging and exciting approaches taken by these artists in response to the question of how to create transformative experiences of both the inner and outer worlds. The artists whose works are in this exhibit use painting, photography and printing techniques in the attempt to grasp the ephemeral moment of aesthetic recognition and remembering. Each of these works poses the question of how we need to create a psychological, artistic, and material space to fulfill our need for a meaningful life in this world.
