USM Lifeline to Develop Mercy's Employee Wellness Program

June 13, 2006

The USM Lifeline Center for Wellness and Health Promotion has been retained to work with Mercy Hospital to develop a workplace wellness program for the Portland-based hospital.

Lifeline's health promotion professionals will work with a steering committee of Mercy's staff to assess specific employee needs; design initiatives that will help promote the health of employees and their dependents; and develop ways to measure the program's effectiveness. It's expected that the program will be launched over the next several months.

The Lifeline Center for Wellness and Health Promotion, now in its 30th year, offers a range of community-based fitness and rehabilitative services. It has more than 20 years of experience in providing a menu of worksite wellness services for private and non-profit organizations including BIW, Hannaford Brothers, LL Bean, Me. Turnpike Authority, Harriman Associates, Chadwick-Baross, to name but a few.
