Hanna Flewelling Senior Saxophone Recital
Hanna Flewelling is a music education major from Scarborough. Along with the heavy workload of a music education major, Hanna has placed a special emphasis on performance while here at USM. She plans to teach in public schools after graduation, and possibly abroad such as in Japan or the UK. She envisions herself teaching middle schoolers, because "they have spunk."
The program will include an interesting combination of modern saxophone works as well as what may be to some, an unexpected Beethoven piece. We all love the sounds of the saxophone that we hear flowing through contemporary music, but few of us have heard this distinctive sound playing solo classical music. For this program, both alto and soprano saxophones will be featured.
An avid home chocolatier, Hanna has created many of the delicacies she will serve at the reception following the recital.
Student recitals are FREE and open to the public.
