History

This year marks the 18^th celebration of the USM School of Music’s annual scholarship gala. A beautiful and entertaining event, this evening highlights the formidable talent of USM School of Music students, entertains more than 250 guests and raises tens of thousands of dollars for music scholarships at the University of Southern Maine.

-  Web site:  You may order gala reservations and raffle tickets by downloading a reservation form at www.usm.maine.edu/music/holiday08, filling in the requested information and mailing it with payment to the School of Music at the address indicated on the downloadable form.

-   Phone Reservations:  Call (207) 780-5003 for phone reservations with credit card or request that a formal  invitation be mailed.  Reservation deadline is November 25.  We may continue to take reservations by phone after that date.  Call (207) 780-5003.

What Happens at the Gala?

-     Each year’s gala features a “theme” that is reflected in the music and the menu. This year’s will celebrate the warmth, traditions, cuisine and music of a New England holiday.

-     Live music is performed by music students starting with hors d’oeuvres, continuing with tableside serenading during the festive holiday banquet, leading up to a spectacular live auction and centerpiece concert in Hannaford Hall.

-     The Live Auction of twenty exceptional items will be led by John Locke.

-     A highly entertaining, musically excellent, delicious and unique evening; a sparkling and popular prelude to the holiday season, a tradition for hundreds * Cash Bar * Black tie optional

What is the Price to Attend?

-    $90.00 per person - $40.00 deductible per reservation

-    Included with each reservation are festive hors d’oeuvres, a holiday banquet with  fine wines, tableside serenading, champagne toast, dessert, coffee and centerpiece concert.
