Jennifer Kennedy's Senior Voice Recital
Jennifer Kennedy is a music education major from Gorham, Maine with a concentration in voice.
An alumna of Gorham High School, Jennifer has grown up in Gorham all her life. She will be graduating from the University of Southern Maine's School of Music in the town that she loves the most. She says it makes this senior voice recital the gift that she can give back in order to say "thank you" for all the years that the people of Gorham have supported her.
After graduation, Jennifer hopes to go into elementary general music while still maintaining an avid participation in vocal performance on the side. This program will feature both classical and musical theater selections; Jennifer has performed and loved both genres throughout her musical career. She has been seen on the stage performing in USM's opera workshop as Mary Warren in The Crucible and Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, performing in the Maine and Boston Musical Theater NATS competitions, where she has won both second and third place.
Jennifer will be assisted by Jenna Guiggey, Christina Zahn, Virginia Hudak, Amanda Bottieri, Jimmy McDonald, Jesse Wakeman, Kellie Moody, and Nathaniel Gowen.
In her own words, Jennifer says "I am truly thankful and honored to be sharing the stage in some great songs with my dear friends and fellow musicians . I'm also excited about my choice for the closing number as Little Women is one of my favorite musicals." She says that people who have seen her perform in the past may recognize a certain reprise that might be familiar.
"A delicious array of food will be provided after the performance. Enjoy!"
All student recitals at USM are free and open to the public.
