The USM School of Music celebrates the Portland Youth Symphony Orchestra's 70th anniversary with a performance of Gustav Mahler’s 3rd Symphony in Merrill Auditorium, Portland. In classic Mahler design, the performance will bring together a large orchestral force involving the Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra, the USM School of Music Women’s Choir, the Southern Maine Children’s Choir, and faculty artists from the University of Southern Maine, as well as alumna soloist Teresa Herold ('02), all directed by School of Music faculty member Robert Lehmann. What other institution within 100 miles has all of this under one roof? The USM School of Music, of course! $12 suggested donation at the door. Sponsored by Macy’s; Macdonald Page & Co LLC; and Murray, Plumb & Murray.
