Portland Youth Wind Ensemble playerOn Thursday, November 15 at 7 p.m., the USM Youth Ensembles will perform their traditional Fall Instrumental Concert at Merrill Auditorium in Portland.

The concert will include the Portland Youth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Robert Lehmann, the Portland Wind Ensemble conducted by Peter Martin, the Portland Young People’s String Consort conducted by Deborah Dabczynski, and the Portland Youth Junior Orchestra conducted by Ferdinand Liva.

The ensembles are coordinated by the USM School of Music, and sponsored by Macy’s.

The program will feature works by Tchaikovsky, Bach, Handel, Brahms, Mahler and much more. This is a wonderful opportunity for symphony lovers of all ages to hear the marvelous work being done by these young people, and to introduce new friends to the amazing sounds of a symphony orchestra, a wind ensemble, and a string consort.

There is a suggested donation at the door of $6 for the general public; $3 for students, seniors, USM employees and alumni.

Download and share the poster with friends.
