About the USM School of Music

Excellence is the hallmark of the USM School of Music. Located near the coastal and mountain regions of Maine in the heart of Maine's population center, the School is a vibrant hub of artistic and educational activity. As the only School of Music in a public university in New England, we have linked the best aspects of a comprehensive school with a personalized and opportunity-based approach to educating 21st-century musicians. Students benefit from having the vibrant greater Portland arts scene at our doorstep.
