Lyn Smith is the Education Director at Maine Roads to Quality. She is responsible for managing the Maine Roads Scholarship Program, which is a financial incentive to suport those employed in the child care and early education field who are pursuing a CDA or college degree in early childhood education or related field. She also oversees the 180 hour Core Knowledge Curriculum, as well as managing the Maine Roads Library of books and videos. Lyn has been working in the field of early education for the past 15 years. She has worked as a center based teacher, curriculum specialist, trainer and center director. She has also enjoyed being an adjunct faculty member at YCCC, teaching a variety of child development courses. Lyn has been trained to be a NAEYC validator and has worked as a facilitator for school age programs, with involvement in NSACA. Prior to coming to Maine Roads, Lyn worked for USM/The Center for Workplace Learning by developing and implementing curriculum in areas such as communication, team building, writing, and customer service to various businesses throughout Maine. Lyn received her undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island and her graduate degree in Education from the University of Hartford.
