Karen MacDonald meets President Obama
Karen MacDonald gets to meet President Obama! Congratulations to Karen for being honored by President Obama for being named Maine's 2014 Teacher of the Year!
Six graduates and one current student from the University of Southern Maine (USM) School of Education and Human Development were recently recognized for their selection as Maine's 2014 Teachers of the Year at the USM Alumni Educators’ Reunion Luncheon.
The success of Maine's schools and a cautionary statement about the need to invest in education, is discussed in an Op Ed by Dr. Flynn Ross, professor of teacher education at USM. She references research done by Dr. David L. Silvernail and the Maine Education Policy Research Institute at USM, along with other data to support her case.
