LD 1422 requires that all high school students graduating in 2018 will earn adiploma diploma based on proficiency instead of credits. High school administrators and teachers, district by district, are grappling with the many challenges this requirement presents.

Hosted by the USM School of Education and Human Development Advisory Council, the two hour program features a panel discussion where teams of high school staff will be introduced to resources and action strategies they can use in this important work. USM and representatives from a number of education organizations will participate in this panel discussion.

Panel to include:

  • Glenn Cummings, Moderator, USM
  • Jeanne Crocker, Maine Principals’ Association
  • Diana Doiron, Maine Department of Education
  • David Ruff, Great Schools Partnership

In addition, the USM Professional Development Center will share opportunities for individual districts to join learning communities organized to support these efforts. Contact hours are available.

*Net proceeds benefit the endowed USM School of Education and Human Development Community Scholarship Fund for student scholarships.
