Learn about more than 45 asterisms, constellations, stars, planets and night sky features and discover their compelling stories.   Our most popular course "Night Sky Mythology" is an odyssey of adventure, romance, epic battles and intrigue.   Conducted for four weeks in the star dome theatre, "Night Sky Mythology" gives you multicultural stories and practical experience to help you find your way around the night sky while discovering the riche mythological tapestry of the stars.

Solar System

"EIGHT PLANETS AND COUNTING" OMNI DOME SHOW!

We're offering an updated version of the "Eight Planets and Counting" program!     Humanity's knowledge of the solar system has changed dramatically within the last few years.    As we know the International Astronomical Union has demoted Pluto, but astronomers have also found an array of other bodies, called "Trans-Neptunian Objects."  

The omni-dome "Eight Planets and Counting" program guides you through the solar system: from our parent star, the Sun, out to the realm beyond Neptune.   Along the way, we'll visit each of the eight planets in turn, we'll explore the Moon, and we'll fly through the asteroid belt. 

Join us for this fantastic full dome odyssey through the solar system!

IBEX: The Search for the Edge of the Solar System

An omni-dome (full dome) presentation about the IBEX (Interstellar Boundary Explorer) probe.      Launched in 2008, the IBEX craft collects energized neutral particles emitted from the heliosphere: the "bubble" enclosing the solar system.   These collections enable the IBEX probe to construct an image of the membrane surrounding us.  The same membrane that protects the solar system from harmful galactic particles.

How does the IBEX probe work?    How does it communicate with Earth?

Join us for this fascinating full-dome show about the IBEX probe and its bold mission to explore the solar system's final frontier.

Solar System

"EIGHT PLANETS AND COUNTING" OMNI DOME SHOW!

We're offering an updated version of the "Eight Planets and Counting" program!     Humanity's knowledge of the solar system has changed dramatically within the last few years.    As we know the International Astronomical Union has demoted Pluto, but astronomers have also found an array of other bodies, called "Trans-Neptunian Objects."  

The omni-dome "Eight Planets and Counting" program guides you through the solar system: from our parent star, the Sun, out to the realm beyond Neptune.   Along the way, we'll visit each of the eight planets in turn, we'll explore the Moon, and we'll fly through the asteroid belt. 

Join us for this fantastic full dome odyssey through the solar system!

Dr. Douglas Currie, USM Neurobiologist

Why is it a bad idea to get bitten by a rattlesnake, stung by a scorpion or to eat lead paint chips? In this talk, designed to be accessible to a broad audience, Dr. Currie will use images animations and demonstrations (but no animals) to illustrate how nerve cells work and how investigating the action of toxins can help scientists get a better grasp on normal nervous system function and on what happens when neurons are exposed to toxins.

Solar System

"EIGHT PLANETS AND COUNTING" OMNI DOME SHOW!

We're offering an updated version of the "Eight Planets and Counting" program!     Humanity's knowledge of the solar system has changed dramatically within the last few years.    As we know the International Astronomical Union has demoted Pluto, but astronomers have also found an array of other bodies, called "Trans-Neptunian Objects."  

The omni-dome "Eight Planets and Counting" program guides you through the solar system: from our parent star, the Sun, out to the realm beyond Neptune.   Along the way, we'll visit each of the eight planets in turn, we'll explore the Moon, and we'll fly through the asteroid belt. 

Join us for this fantastic full dome odyssey through the solar system!

IBEX: The Search for the Edge of the Solar System

An omni-dome (full dome) presentation about the IBEX (Interstellar Boundary Explorer) probe.      Launched in 2008, the IBEX craft collects energized neutral particles emitted from the heliosphere: the "bubble" enclosing the solar system.   These collections enable the IBEX probe to construct an image of the membrane surrounding us.  The same membrane that protects the solar system from harmful galactic particles.

How does the IBEX probe work?    How does it communicate with Earth?

Join us for this fascinating full-dome show about the IBEX probe and its bold mission to explore the solar system's final frontier.
