The USM School of Music is proud to present Michael Beling in his senior piano recital. The recital will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 9th in Corthell Concert Hall on the USM Gorham Campus.
Pianist and composer Michael Beling's passion for jazz, and music of all types, has only grown through the years. Originally from Cape Elizabeth, he maintains an active performance schedule at restaurants, nightclubs, and private events. Michael also greatly enjoys teaching, and works with a number of students privately. He hopes to continue his studies in music at the graduate level in the coming years.
Michael has studied with many acclaimed musicians including Thomas Snow, Jed Wilson, Laura Caviani, Mark Shilansky, Ben Waltzer and Vardan Ovsepian. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern Maine in 2013, where he was named Presser Scholar in 2011, awarded to one outstanding music major each year. He has been adjudicating for the Maine Jazz All-State auditions since 2011, and is a faculty member of the Midcoast School of Music, in Portland, ME.
Student recitals are free and open to the public, and subject to change without notice. Please visit www.usm.maine.edu/music/events for schedule updates.
