USM houses both the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute of Southern Maine as well as the National Resource Center, headquarters of Osher Lifelong Learning Institute network.

What happens at an Osher Lifelong Learning Institute?

At an Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), members embrace the exhileration of participating in content-rich courses on topics ranging from Bach to Biology. There are no restrictions to membership - no tests, no grades, no credits. It is learning in the purest sense: simply for the love of it.
