Structuring a Computer Lab

Posted on April 27th, 2007 by Julia Ridge, OLLI National Resource Center

Denney Morton, from OLLI at the University of Southern Maine, asks:

The OLLI at the University of Southern Maine will open a new facility in a new building in September, 2008. As part of this exciting event we are designing a small computer lab to serve our membership, now 1000 and growing. The lab will be part of our suite of offices and classrooms, and will be staffed. There will be 3
to five computers for the membership to access, to learn computer skills and to use while at OLLI.  How do we structure this facility so it is the most useful and safe?  Other recommendations?

Do you have a service component to your program or curriculum? For example, volunteering in the community or crafting a position paper on an important issue.
