Online Registration Software

Fran McGuire, Clemson University asks:

What on-line registration software
program do other OLLIs use?

  1. Great question. To date, we do make on-line registration available to our members but I’ll be watching the rest of the answers to learn about the potential.

  2. CORRECTION: WE DO NOT MAKE ON LINE REG AVAILABLE!

  3. We use a custome developed system which holds the information in a kiosk. Our registration team processes the kiosk and enters the information into the main University registration system which is People Soft.

  4. I would suggest looking at ACEWare’s Student Manager database system if you have to use a stand-alone system. http://www.aceware.com/
We currently have the database but not the on-line component, but I have looked at it and another program here at UNL uses the software. http://cariregistration.unl.edu/
I agree that not all OLLI members use a computer, there will be a learning curve, and you have to weigh out the expense. The flip-side of the coin is the opportunity to introduce members to a technology, make a convenient location available in your OLLI office that they would feel secure using, get an authority to do an article about the security issue, and add a course free of charge to teach members on how to use the system and incorporate e-mail instruction to keep them more in touch with your OLLI news.

  5. We will be using CampusCE in the Fall for our online registrations and can’t wait!
