Student ID cards and evening courses

Posted on August 26th, 2009 by Anne Cardale, OLLI National Resource Center

Jacqueline Gratz, OLLI at Towson University Asks OLLI:

Do your OLLI students receive official student ID cards from your university that can be used for reduced entrance fees at various events, both within and outside the university.    If so, what is the procedure whereby they procure the cards?

Do you offer evening courses?  If so, how many, which evenings, and what time?  Are they well attended?  Have they been as successful as your daytime courses?

  1. Regarding I.D. cards…Yes, our members receive a Brandeis I.D. card (that says OLLI on it) that entitles them to the kinds of things you mentioned, entry to theatre (reduced fees) and IT is their library card in campus libraries. They are not fancy - no photos, just their name and OLLI and a photo of a landmark building on campus.

The office responsible for making I.D.s has been extremely helpful. Each semester, once registration is done, we send them the names of new folks and they make the I.D.s. If/when members lose their cards, she will make a replacement. She is uniquely helpful and this goes very smoothly for us.

    No evening classes yet.
