Do you have a written policy or specific language clarifying the role of your advisory board and committee volunteers vis-à-vis the director’s role? I am looking for language that clarifies that the institute director has the final say regarding financial and programmatic decisions.

We are working on all of the information mentioned above. We have pulled information from all of the other OLLI websites that had it posted on line. We are now sorting through the information to use what we see as relevant.

This is one passage out of our guidelines that make the point you are asking about. I think I sent the entire Guidelines to Kyles.
ARTICLE VIII: THE DIRECTOR
The Director is a member of the Rabb School staff, appointed and employed by Brandeis University and responsible to it. The Director is responsible and accountable for the overall management of BOLLI including programmatic, financial, and managerial matters and of assuring that Council decisions and policies conform to University policies. The Director also serves as a liaison to the Rabb School and the University. The Director or the Director’s designee shall be a voting member of the Nominating Committee and a non-voting member of the Council and all other committees and task forces.
