Osher Map Library exhibit welcomes OLLI members
“The Grand Tour and the Development of Tourism: 1600 to 1900” is the fall exhibit at the Osher Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Education.
We invite you to tour this new exhibit with OLLI members Jerry and Monique Collins serving as docents. The exhibit traces the “grand tour” as a rite of passage for the British gentry from its beginnings to the early modern era, when railroad and steamships introduced mass tourism as we experience
The exhibit includes materials on loan from the Collins’s personal collection, and they will present a brief introduction on European and American prints in the Cohen Educational Center before the gallery tour.
Two sessions are scheduled: Friday, Oct. 7, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 28, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:25 p.m.
The gallery capacity is limited to 25. To RSVP please call 780-4850 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org indicating your first and second choice for the date.
