The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at USM will be offering a partial scholarship for the academic year 2014-2015 for the Gerontology Certificate program. The scholarship will be awarded to one in-state, non-degree student at the rate of $500 per course for a total of $2,500. This would allow one student to complete the entire 15 credit certificate program using the partial scholarship.
The award criteria are:
- Accepted and enrolled in the gerontology certificate
- In-state resident
- Non-degree student
- Willing to complete the entire 15 credit gerontology certificate in one year
- Interested in dedicating their career to working with older adults
- At the completion of the certificate, the student must be willing to either meet with the USM OLLI Board of Directors or write a letter describing the benefits received from the certificate and scholarship.
Application deadline is May 1, 2014.
