All investigators, key personnel, faculty advisors and research staff conducting research involving any vertebrate animals are required to complete training before they may begin. This training is valid for four (4) years. IACUC applications will not be approved until all necessary people have fulfilled this requirement.
Complete the on-line CITI IACUC training course located HERE.
-All Lab Investigators, Research Personnel, and Students must take the “Investigators, Staff and Student, Basic Course” in its entirety;
-All Field Study Investigators/Students and Faculty Advisors must take the first 8 (eight) modules, from “Introduction to Working with the IACUC” through “USDA Pain/Distress Categories”, in the “Investigators, Staff, and Student, Basic Course” AND the complete “Wildlife Research” Course;
-All IACUC Committee Members must take the “IACUC Chairs, Members and Coordinators” course AND the “Wildlife Research” Course.
All investigators, research staff and key personnel handling animals or working in the Portland Campus Science Building must also take the Occupational Health Survey. Please email this completed form to John Reed, Director of Environmental Health & Safety, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
