IACUC Training

All investigators, key personnel, faculty advisors and research staff conducting research involving any vertebrate animals are required to complete training before they may begin.  This training is valid for four (4) years.  IACUC applications will not be approved until all necessary people have fulfilled this requirement. 

-All Lab Investigators, Research Personnel, Students, and Faculty Advisors must complete:

  • The “Investigators, Staff and Student, Basic Course” through CITI,

o   OR attend an in person training course presented by the attending veterinarian,

  • AND the “Annual Basic Safety Training” through the Blackboard.

-All Field Study Investigators, Research Personnel, Students, and Faculty Advisors must complete:

  • The “Investigators, Staff and Student, Basic Course” through CITI,

o   OR attend an in person training course presented by the attending veterinarian,

  • AND the “Annual Basic Safety Training” through the Blackboard,
  • AND the “Wildlife Research Course” through CITI.

All investigators, research staff and key personnel handling animals or working in the Portland Campus Science Building must also complete an Occupational Health Survey.
