Paula joins the MOT program with experience in a variety of settings including: Adult Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Public Schools, Private Practice, Home Health, Outpatient Clinics (adults and children), Skilled Nursing Facilities, Long Term Care and Disability Insurance. She has been both a direct care practioner and held various leadership and management roles in healthcare and health insurance industries.
Paula’s long-term interest in the relationship between sensory integration and learning and behavior has guided her practice. Her Masters thesis was focused on sensory integration, sensory processing and learning challenges. More recently, she has studied how changes in the environment and the task requirements support ongoing participation in work and at home, aging and living in place.
In her free time, Paula enjoys cruising about Casco Bay and beyond, the deserts of the west, designing and creating jewelry, cooking and entertaining, and spending time with Jack, her other half, and Olive, her liver and white English Springer Spaniel.
