I am very excited to join the CTEL team as a Learning Designer and return back to my alma mater- I graduated from USM in 2004, earning both a B.F.A. and A.A. with a concentration in painting, video production, and performance.
For the past four years, I have been attending graduate school at the University of Maine, completing concurrent master’s degrees, a M.Ed. in Instructional Technology and a M.F.A. in Intermedia, an interdisciplinary art and technology program. I am also a freelance graphic designer. Most of my freelance work revolves around creating media content for websites, grant proposals, promotional materials, and research publications. This past spring, I completed a semester long internship at Husson University, serving as both an Instructional Technologist and Teaching Assistant. Cooking is one of my biggest passions and just prior to graduate school, I had the opportunity to attend the Culinary Arts program at Southern Maine Community College.
My research centers on blending multimedia production with instructional technology and design. My goal is to explore how emerging technologies and dynamic media content can be used to enhance engagement, facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration, and promote life long learning. I am particularly interested in the creation of informal e-learning opportunities through the utilization of open educational resources.
I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to work as a creative, innovative resource for USM faculty as they strive to achieve their online and digital teaching goals.
