This course covers basic environmental science facts, concepts, and strategies for the classroom teacher, including planning environmental field trips, labs, and in-class activities. Topics include teaching ecosystem and environmental science principles, integrating environmental science as a vehicle for teaching other subjects, selecting and designing environmental curricula; and applying the Maine Learning Results. Format is hands-on experiential, with most of our time spent in the laboratory or in the field.

Prerequisite: Teaching certificate or equivalent or undergraduate degree in education or a natural science, or acceptance into ETEP Program or permission of the instructor.
