This course focuses on what are the Maine and Federal laws, both educational and civil rights, which mandate schools, private and public, should be free from bullying and harassment for both youth and adults. In addition, what schools can do and are doing to reducing bullying and harassment will be explored and discussed. To increase understanding of why bullying and harassment occur, cognitive theory of stereotyping and implicit bias will also be covered and explored. This course is designed both for teachers and administration.
