STONE CIRCLE SOCIETY MEETING

"The NIne Ladies and Long Meg and Her Daughters"
Wednesday, October 21, 2015
7:00 p.m.
at the Southworth Planetarium
Free and open to the public

Attend our next Stone Circle Society gathering on October 14th, when the society's Prime Minister, Lawrence Price, will guide us through two of Britain's most enchanting stone circles:

Nine Ladies

THE NINE LADIES: a Bronze Age construct depicting nine ladies (maids, women, and crones) arranged in a healing circle.

 Long Meg and her daughters

LONG MEG AND HER DAUGHTERS:  a coven of witches assembled for a solstice ritual along with the Scottish wizard-mathematician Michael Scot.

These stone circles, like many others scattered across Britain, were believed to have been ritual or burial sites designed as a conduit connecting the spiritual and Earthly realms.    These circles are still believed to have retained an aspect of their ancient magic.  For instance, it is said to be impossible to accurately count all the stones at the Long Meg site.   If someone is ever able to precisely count the stones twice, the spell will be brokenn.

Join us for a virtual journey to ancient Britian with an exploration of Long Meg and the Nine Ladies.

Free and open to the public.
