POS Major Chosen for Stennis Intern Program on Capitol Hilll

Congratulations to Autumn Duguay, Political Science major, who did her summer internship in Washington, D.C. where she interned in the office of Senator Angus King. Autumn was additionally selected for the prestigious Stennis Intern Program on Capitol Hill! Students interested in the Political Science Internship course should contact Prof. Robert Klotz (rklotz@usm.maine.edu). Reminder: Make sure to plan well in advance for your internship, so you can receive academic credit for it.

Social Media Activism Minor

Interested in activism through online media? USM is now offering a Social Media Activism minor for 15 credits. The minor integrates Political Science, Sociology, Communications and Media Studies, and Philosophy courses.

Joshua Dodge Interning at UN in NY

Joshua Dodge, a political science major, is interning this semester at the US Mission to the United Nations in New York City. While working in the Host Country Affairs division, Joshua interacted with diplomats from other missions and drafted cables for the State Department. He even got to meet Ban Ki-moon, current Secretary General of the United Nations. Congratulations Joshua!
