Economist Susan Feiner Available to Discuss National Debt

University of Southern Maine Professor of Economics Susan Feiner is available for television, radio or press interviews concerning the economic implications of the U.S. national debt, the deficit, and claims of pending insolvency of major social programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

Feiner regularly blogs for MS Magazine and Women's eNews, and has been featured on Common Dreams and Truth Out. She is an articulate, informed expert on macro economic policy with over 30 years of classroom experience, enabling her to explain complex economic relationships to non-expert audiences. She uses clear language and easy-to-follow examples to dispel confusion over basic economics.

Feiner, who teaches in both USM’s economics and Women & Gender Studies programs, is most easily reached by email: sffein@usm.maine.edu, or by phone at 207-846-5213 (H), or 207-712-4188 (C). For assistance arranging interviews, please contact Bob Caswell or Judie O’Malley in USM’s Office of Public Affairs at 207-780-4200.
