USM’s assistant director of public affairs, Judie Alessi O’Malley, joined the Office of Public Affairs in 1986. Previously, she held a variety of positions in the Greater Portland area, including working in a photography studio and serving as the production manager and weaver for Arriba Design Works, a cottage industry that produced hand-woven rag rugs.
She volunteered in Gorham’s schools, and served as a member of Gorham’s School Committee. She also volunteered at the Wayside Soup Kitchen for many years, and served on numerous committees, including Church Council, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Currently, she is a member of the Board of Directors for WMPG FM Radio, USM’s community radio station.
Judie is a 1976 graduate of the William Paterson University and holds a M.A. in American and New England Studies from USM.
She and her husband, John, are residents of Gorham.
