Dr. Rob Sanford, USM's Environmental Science and Policy Department chair, was featured on Boston's WCVB-5's "Cityline". The program discussed Malaga Island, a community located off the coast of Phippsburg, Maine. Residents were evicted by the state of Maine and essentially erased from Maine's history.

Sanford was one of two people who lead an archeological dig on Malaga Island in 2012 and was interviewed about his experiences.

"Archeology [...] is trying to understand how did people live, how did people cope with their environment. We saw that those folks were not so different."
