USM and SMCC Convene for Thinking Matters
The University of Southern Maine and Southern Maine Community College will convene this Friday, April 27th, for the annual exhibition of student research, scholarship, and creative achievement - Thinking Matters - on USM’s Portland campus. The goal of the conference is to provide a public forum for USM and SMCC students, along with faculty, staff, and invited guests, to share the results of their research, scholarship, amd creativity.
The event will celebrate and encourage student initiative, foster intellectual camaraderie, and promote student-faculty collaboration. Students from all academic disciplines and divisions have been invited to present papers or posters on any aspect of their classroom work, independent study, student-teaching, internships, creative project.
SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY:
8:30-11:30 a.m., Poster Session, Sullivan Gym
11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m., Lunch on your own
12:15-1:30 p.m., Oral Panel Session 1, Payson Smith Hall, 2nd floor
1:45-3:00 p.m., Oral Panel Session 2, Payson Smith Hall, 2nd floor
3:15-4:30 p.m., Oral Panel Session 3, Payson Smith Hall, 2nd floor
