The University of Southern Maine will host a public information session for a new doctoral program focused on educational leadership and policy on Tuesday, June 19, at 6 p.m., in Room 133 of the Wishcamper Center, Bedford Street, Portland.
Faculty and staff will provide an overview of the degree and the admissions process. The program is accepting applications through Friday, July 6.
Designed for working professionals with experience and interest in educational leadership, the Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy, with a concentration in educational leadership and policy, is a new partnership between the Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service and the School of Education and Human Development, under the College of Management and Human Service.
That partnership allows the educational leadership and policy concentration to encompass a variety of topics that include contemporary issues in educational leadership and policy, economics and public policy, and leadership in a globalized world. The program uses a cohort model in which students progress through the program together over a three-year period, offering opportunities for collaboration and relationship building.
