USM researchers Karen Wilson and Theo Willis appeared in a Portland Press Herald story on the return of alewives to Mill Brook in Westbrook.

The pair, both faculty from the Department of Environmental Science and Policy, helped lead an annual alewife walk to Goldilocks Falls. The falls is part of the Presumpscot Regional Land Trust's Mill Brook Preserve.

USM's Environmental Science and Policy Department organizes a volunteer fish-counting station at nearby Highland Lake to monitor the numbers of returning fish.
