Thinking Matters

Thinking Matters 2016 was held on Friday, April 22, 2016 in the Abromson Center, on the USM Portland Campus.

Innovative teaching and creative work – whether in a classroom, in a lab or in a studio – are the heart of any dynamic university culture.  At University of Southern Maine, it is showcased at Thinking Matters, a one-day, once-a-year conference, that is a capstone that reflects what's going on all year long in departments all across campus.  


The University of Southern Maine supports research, scholarship and creative activity to:

  • Promote knowledge, discovery, and creative solutions that advance Maine's economy, communities, and quality of life for all Maine citizens;
  • Strengthen classroom education and transform the lives of student through real world learning opportunities; and
