Summer Housing

Spend your summer with friends on campus! 

Taking classes at USM this summer (or pre-registered for Fall 2017)? Summer housing is available for you and there's no application fee! This online summer 2017 housing application is for USM students only.

Non-USM students with local internships may apply for housing at a slightly higher rate on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact our office at 207-780-5240 or for more information and a housing contract.

Housing on campus in Gorham's Upperclass Hall (above) features:

  • Air conditioned 4-person single apartments and 4-person double suites

  • Events and activities organized by your hall staff

  • All-inclusive price includes furnished rooms, internet, cable TV, electricity, hot water

  • Patio, rec room, music practice rooms, common kitchen and study lounges

  • Option to continue your stay through the gap between summer and fall

  • Gorham farmer's market, great coffee shops, and Gorham summer concert series

 Please note there is no summer shuttle bus service between Gorham and Portland.

The details on the optional gap stay:

Full summer students, Sunday, May 14 - Friday, August 18, who have a fall 2017 room assignment at USM and are registered for fall classes, may move into their fall room assignment at the end of summer session and stay through the two-week gap period between the end of summer term and the start of fall term at no additional charge.

Other summer students wishing to stay for the two week gap from August 18 - August 28 must move into their summer assignment by July 4, must be continuing in summer housing for the remainder of the summer session, and must have a fall room assignment at USM. An additional $140.00 charge will be applied to the student’s account for the gap period.

Students without a fall room assignment and/or who move in to summer housing after July 4 are ineligible to live on campus for the gap period.

Cancellation policy:

* Cancellation prior to arrival: 100% refund

* Cancellation in writing to after arrival but prior to mid-point of reserved stay: 50% refund

* Cancellation in writing at or after mid-point of reserved stay: No refund

Payment Information:

Assignment confirmation and balance due amount will be mailed or e-mailed at a later date. Any past due balance on a University account must be cleared before assignment is made. Payment in full is due prior to moving into the residence hall if stay is less than the full summer session. A three-payment plan option, with an enrollment deadline of April 15, 2017, may be available for those USM students planning to live in housing for the full summer only. Contact Student Financial Services at 207-780-5200 to set up this payment plan or to discuss your payment plan options if you are assigned to housing after April 15.
