  • Met in the Absense of Will.
  • Talking a lot of leadership within the student senate.
  • Talking about responsibilities of the E-Board members and how we can work better with our committees.
  • Met with Joe Austin about internships and job placements.
  1. Constitutional Review Committee
  • Met and worked on goals, received a response from Joy.

1.Social network between senators and faculty is being worked on.

  1. Finance Committee
  • Discussed proposal that is on the agenda.
  • Goals: 

1.Working on extending the library hours.

  1. Student Affairs Committee
  • Met today and discussed goals.
  • Wanted to see if student affairs for the university could work with the committee on the senate.
  1. Public Relations Committee
  • Got the Holiday Festival Lunch Buffet all squared away, good to go!
  • PR Committee members working on getting a banner made for the SGA.
  • Still posting everything on our social media, making sure we pull events from the USM “What’s Happening” page.
  • Tabling at the Buffet DECEMBER 11th, WEDNESDAY 10:30AM – 2PM
  • Going to be reviewing a few senate applications on Tuesday at our scheduled meeting time, putting them in order from most favorable to least.
  1. Clerk
  • Got office hour submissions for the week.

1.Only one person submitted them late, and a couple did not submit at all.

  • Going to be re-doing the mailboxes after the meeting, as well as sorting out all of the POs that have accumulated this semester.

 

Motion by Senator Lamirande to excuse Senator Huber for RA Institute, seconded by Senator Boothby.  PASSED.

 

Motion by Senator Lamirande to excuse Senator Evans to bring his laptop to get fixed and recover his lost work towards his finals for school, seconded by Senator Kalloch.  PASSED.

  • The SBP is not in the governance document.
  • A revised version has been presented, see Marpheen Chann-Berry for a copy.

1.Motion by Senator Dodge to refer this to the Constitutional Review Committee, seconded by Senator Kalloch.  PASSED.

  • Great work with the energy in the office.

1.Chris handed out a list of the events for the next couple weeks.

1.spoke about some events really briefly.  Toys for Tots, ect.

  • Title III Grant

1.Presentation was shown to educate us on the grant.

 

Motion by Senator Lamirande to table the discussion about the banners to next week, seconded by Senator Gattis.  PASSED.

  • Proposal 42-25 to approve Engineers without Borders as a BSO group.
  1. PASSED
  • Proposal 42-26 to approve funding for a Muslin Students Association trip to an international conference.
  1. PASSED

 

Motion by Senator Gattis to endorse the actions of the E-Board to approve the Psychology Club’s proposal 42-27, seconded by Senator Lamirande.  PASSED.

  • Proposal 42-28 to approve CTRC as a BSO group.

  • There is a man looking for certain Senators.  He may be mentally unstable, contact public safety if you feel uncomfortable with him.  He does not appear to be harmful, but be careful and respectful.  Do not hand out public information to strangers.
