2014 Stonecoast Reading Series Kicks Off with Alumni Reading Event at Winter Residency

Stonecoast will host the first Reading Series Event of 2014 at the Winter Residency, "Welcome Back Alumni" featuring poet Quenton Baker and memoirist Helen Peppe. 

The Stonecoast Reading Series, organized by members of the Stonecoast literary community across the U.S. and beyond, provide a showcase for Stonecoast students, alumni, and faculty to share their writings with the people of their local communities. 

Alumnus Quenton Baker is a poet living in Maine who was recently nominated for a Pushcart Prize for his poem, "Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Nigger." Alumna Helen Peppe's memoir, Pigs Can't Swim, is a 2014 Indie Introduce and an Indie Next title. She is currently working on a YA novel (about horses) I Name You Rockstar, and her second memoir, Chasing the Light (for horse photography). 

The reading will take place Friday, January 17th at 7:00pm in the Casco Room at the Harraseeket Inn,162 Main St, Freeport, ME 04032.
