Kappa Iota

Kappa Iota

Our National Sorority is built off philanthropic ideals, as well as encourages young collegiate women to embody leadership pride, service and sisterhood, in themselves and the community.

Kappa Delta Phi National Affiliated Sorority’s was founded in 1971 with the first chartered chapter at Husson College in Bangor Maine, with the assistance of Kappa Delta Phi Fraternity. The National Sorority has now flourished with twenty chapters throughout the Northeast Region.

The Kappa Iota Chapter at USM is made up of twenty-three actives! Our main focus are acts of kindness. Our National Philanthropy changes every year. This year the National Philanthropy is the Make-a-Wish Foundation. We also participate in many other  philanthropies throughout the year. Past philanthropies have been Relay for Life, Autism Walk, Out of the Darkness walk, Trick or Treat for UNICEF, Random Acts of Kindness, food drives, and volunteering at the local soup kitchen, as well many more. We also host many fundraisers along with sister bonding activities and intermurals.

If you are intrested in learning more contact Ashley Rose ashley.rose1@maine.edu   or Lizz Bishop  elizabeth.n.bishop@maine.edu or come meet the sisters at one of our rushes
