2015 Student Leadership Awards
Each year, we recognize the accomplishments of students, student organizations and the faculty/staff who support them by awarding a series of USM Student Leadership Awards. Nominations are now open for the 2015 awards.
Nominations may be made by any member of the USM community - students, faculty or staff. Award nominations are due no later than: Tuesday, April 14th, 2015 by Noon.
It is the nominator's responsibility to complete the nomination form (linked below). Be sure to answer all of the questions and detail the nominee's strengths in relation to the award for which they individual, or group, is being nominated. Award recipients are selected solely on the content of these answers, so please be specific!
For individual student awards, nominees should meet the following criteria:
Currently enrolled at USM (verified by the Office of the Registrar)
Grade point average of at least a 2.0 (verified by the Office of the Registrar)
Good standing within the University Conduct System (verified by Community Standards)
For group awards, nominees should meet the following criteria:
Recognized by the University as an active student organization
For event award, nominees should meet the following criteria:
Sponsored by a USM organization or department
For the faculty/staff awards, recipients should meet the following criteria:
Employed by the University of Southern Maine during the 2014-2015 academic year
Award criteria will be verified for individual award nominees (University status, GPA, conduct standing). Nominees not meeting the basic criteria will be removed from the selection process. Nomiators will be notified of any issues that may arise.

A selection committee (comprised of students, faculty and staff) will review all award nominations. The committee will be advised by the Director of Student Life & the Coordinator of Learning Communities. Award recipients will be selected by April 16th, 2015.
Award recipients and all nominees will be notified after the selection process is completed. All nominees, nominators, family and friends are invited to the following recognition event:
