Robin Hoose, MS
Robin has been managing & providing fitness programming on the USM Gorham Campus since the opening of the fitness center in 1997. During her tenure, Robin has continued to provide one-on-one personal training, a variety of group exercise classes, nutritional counseling, and educational opportunities to students and community members who utilize the state of the art fitness facilities. She also provides educational opportunities and experience for Health/Fitness students, and others interested in the fitness industry.
Robin earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Food, and Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Maine in Orono, and has been in the fitness industry for more than 20 years. While earning her degrees she helped to establish fitness programs at the Latti Fitness Center, and develop group exercise offerings at UM. Robin has also worked in the private sector specializing in fitness program development, as well as in clinical settings with injury rehabilitation.
Throughout her career, Robin has worked passionately and tirelessly with various populations; young and old, conditioned and de-conditioned, and weekend warrior to trained athlete, providing fitness guidance and education to help individuals reach their personal health and fitness goals. Robin is an avid fitness and wellness enthusiast and enjoys most forms of physical activity both indoors and out. She also enjoys healthy eating and cooking and hopes to inspire others in their healthy lifestyles.
