WMPG's 17th Annual Fat Tuesday Celebration and Cajun Cookin' Challenge

Event Date and Time:
Tue, 02/07/2012 - 12:00pm - 3:00pm
Location:
Woodbury Campus Center, Portland

This event has become a WMPG tradition... our way of celebrating the Mardi Gras with many of the fabulous restaurants in Portland -- with the WMPG listening community as well as the USM campus community.
Join WMPG as we revel in Fat Tuesday fun with New Orleans and Louisiana music all day... and from 11 to 3 broadcasting live from the Woodbury Campus Center. There'll be a free raffle, some special giveaways throughout the day... and of course that amazing cajun fare to taste and rate! You make the rounds of all the restaurants' tables and mark your ballot with your favorites. The winner of the Cajun Cookin' Contest gets the WMPG Cajun Cookin' Challenge trophy to display at their restaurant!
This year, 13 food establishments have signed up to participate:

Aramark/USM Dining
Bayside Bowl
Bintliff's American Café
Empire Dine & Dance
Frog and Turtle
Great Lost Bear
Gritty McDuffs
Hot Suppa
Izzy's Cheesecake
Pepperclub
Po Boys N Pickles
Sillys Restaurant
Local Sprouts!

Silly's has won for three years in a row!  Can one of these fine establishments take the championship from Silly's this year?? Come! Eat! Vote!
There is no admission charge, although WMPG encourages a small donation (suggested $3 to $5) to help with the costs of producing the event. Parking is available at no charge at the USM garage on Surrenden Street.
Note: "Actual" Mardi Gras is on February 21, but WMPG is celebrating early to avoid USM's vacation week and Valentine's Day.We thought you might ask "why so early"... so that's why. :-)
